Spectral MD, Inc. is an uptown Dallas based medical tech company that answers clinical questions through the development of data pipelines, artificial intelligence (“AI”) algorithms and proprietary optical technology. Spectral MD Inc.’s DeepView® Wound Imaging System (“DeepView®”) is an advanced medical device that uses a digital approach to deliver images of blood flow under the skin's surface to look deep into the body without ever touching the patient. Position Overview:

​

Spectral MD, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern with experience in front end web development. The intern will gain exciting real-world software and programming engineering experience, developing software for the full product lifecycle, at a thriving and rapidly expanding company. We frequently work in small teams to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

​

• Work with a cross-functional technical team composed of frontend software engineers, data scientists, and product designers. 

• Assist in developing and building the DeepView application along with the team of Software Engineers for various projects. 

• Provide support in troubleshooting for the application of the medical device with Biomedical Engineers and Software Development team for devices that are out in the field. 

• Assist in developing tools to support the optical and algorithm team efforts. 

• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

​

• Current or recently an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an accredited university. 

• Field of study in Computer Science or other similar technical related fields. 

• Applied experience in software development 

​

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

​

• Knowledge of developing software for the full product lifecycle (software design, development, testing, production, and maintenance), preferably with medical device software. 

• Skilled in C#, C++ or other object-oriented languages. 

• Applicable knowledge in front end web development using languages/ frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, Vue.js 

• Knowledge of OOP/OOD, .Net Framework, and WPF desktop application development. 

• Knowledge in the following are is preferred: o C++/CLI, P/Invoke to interop with unmanaged code. 

  • Cloud services such as AWS, Google cloud or Azure. 

  • Software testing technologies such unit test framework, e.g. NUnit, MSTest, automation test framework e.g. Cucumber, Coded UI, or automation CI/CD (continuous integration / delivery) framework. 

  • NoSQL database such Redis, DynamoDB or MongoDB. 

• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
